We’re excited to annouce for the first time since the pandemic, we’ll be on public display! Join us April 29th at John Galt Park in Downtown Guelph for tours of our caboose, 436994, and if necessary repairs are made in time, our passenger coach! You’ll be able to see first hand the restoration efforts and our volunteers are hard at work doing, including a beautiful repaint on our caboose and the work on our passenger coach to bring it back to it’s CN appearance. Beside us will be Locomotive 6167, which will have Guelph Museum staff on hand to show off the locomotive!
We’re also excited to announce the Guelph Junction Railway and Goderich and Exeter will be displaying a locomotive along with our caboose! You’ll be able to see up close the locomotives that power trains daily through our city.
On April 29th, we’ll be turning John Galt Park into a railway park. Come on over to experience what riding the rails in a caboose was like, see the giant steam engine, and it’s modern day counterpart up close! We will also have a table of GHRA merchandise and old railway books that can be yours with a donation to the GHRA.
