The Guelph Historical Railway Association would like to acknowledge the tragic passing of longtime GHRA member Gregson Lodge’s children, Evan and Amanda who were killed in a car accident earlier this year. Evan like his father loved trains and could be often seen watching the Guelph Junction Railway and CN with his father in Guelph, or riding the trains to Toronto for fun. This hobby was shared with the rest of the family and you could often see the Lodge’s out watching trains together.

We cannot begin to express our sorrow for the Lodge family over the loss of Evan and Amanda. This world has lost two incredible children. The family selected the GHRA as a charity to donate to in honour of Evan. We are deeply thankful, and have been unbelievably moved by the generosity of the family, and all those who donated to the GHRA. Money from donations will go to preserving and restoring our collection so future generations can experience railway history.

In the coming months we will discuss how we can properly pay tribute to Evan, Amanda, and the rest of the Lodge family. We will make sure their memory is never forgotten, as a part of the railway fabric of Guelph.

The Lodge family kindly supplied these photographs of Evan, Amanda and the rest of the Lodge family.
